Vermont Green FC has achieved what they set out to do! The Green beat Ballard 2-1 Saturday night at Virtue Field in Burlington to take home the honors. Maximillian Kissel scored the game winner just minutes before the final whistle, which sent the 5k+ in attendance over the moon.
Kissel aka Mr. Clutch has a knack for the dramatics as he also scored the game winner for the Vermont Catamounts in the College Cup final last fall.

Vermont returned several players from last year's team and added talent from several other schools as well. UNC Greensboro was heavily represented with 3 players. One of those includes Julien Le Bourdoulous. The diminutive midfielder is creative and is all over the pitch for 90 minutes covering every blade of grass.
Virginia Commonwealth defender Moussa Ndiaye was named defender of the year in USL 2. The 24 year old was a man among boys all year in USL 2 play.
Vermont completed an invincible season winning 11 games and drawing 3 in the regular season. The Green cherried the sundae by going 5-0 in the playoffs.
1st year head coach Chris Taylor was promoted in February after serving as an assistant coach since 2022, which was Vermont's inaugural season. Former head coach Adam Pfeifer now serves as sporting director. Taylor and Pfeifer are clearly a cohesive unit as the talent they assembled completely meshed all 2025 for the Green.
I think the most important thing that the Green accomplished in 2025 was the national audience they drew in, and you can couple that with a top notch game day environment, helping make the Green unbeatable in 2025.
Congrats to all things Vermont Green......I see a dynasty forming.
