When Graham Tinkham moved to Falmouth, Massachusetts from Footy hotbed Framingham, it was unclear how his soccer journey would turnout. After a club switch from Juventus Academy Boston to Boston Bolts he found his stride and it carried him through his high school career.
Tinkham scored 30 goals and contributed 24 assists in all competitions among all levels in his time for the Falmouth Clippers, helping the team reach the post season twice in his 3 Varsity seasons.
The 6 foot 185 pound heavy footed midfielder combines power with nimbleness in his game. Whether it's winning 50/50 challenges, or picking out the final defense splitting pass, Tinkham was a tough customer to deal with all fall for Falmouth. He was particularly dangerous this past season in the air, scoring multiple game winning header goals.
Hailing from Framingham, Tinkham has always had an appetite to display some flair that he picked up playing futsal and pickup soccer, where Jogo Bonito is encouraged, dropping multiple defenders with a variety of tekky moves this past high school season.
Perhaps Tinkham's best attribute is his ability to create chances or get a goal out of nothing. Several times this fall the ball landed on his foot, and most wouldn't think of the type of finishes that he pulled off. Versus Old Rochester Tinkham hit a 40 yard stunner top bins. Against Sandwich he chipped the keeper from 25 yards. An equalizer vs Southeastern Voc saw him take a ball off the chest, turning that into a volley golazo. Above is Tinkham's version of the Lambeau Leap after his last second goal vs Shawsheen Tech in the first round of the MIAA Playoffs.
This particular goal gave Falmouth a 3-1 victory slamming the door on a fiesty Shawsheen team.
Tinkham mentioned on Senior night that his favorite memory as a Clipper was when the team blasted "September" on the teams portable speaker after victories. Below you can see what it means to him to celebrate with his teammates after an early season assist.
Tinkham racked up several accolades this past season. He garnished the prestigious selection of being named an Eastern Mass All Star.
Players who get selected as an Eastern Mass All Star get to participate in an All Star game. The game which took place at Concord Carlisle High School brought the best public school players from Eastern Mass together to compete vs each other.
The particular game in which Tinkham participated ended up in a 4-4 tie. The offensive quality was very high, but defending was optional at times. Tinkham had many good attacking opportunities and created several chances for himself and others. Below is a Pic of both teams post game.
He was also named a Cape and Islands Atlantic Division All Star prior to the end of the season.
Just a few days ago he was announced to the Cape Cod Times 2nd team.
Tinkham has several options heading into 2025. He has the conclusion of his Bolts Club soccer career which will end in June. Prior to this he has a trip to London where he will train for clubs and trainers in hopes of landing a spot on an English Club. He also has several Colleges and Universities courting him.
It's been a hell of a ride for Graham Tinkham and it is just beginning...........
