Santa Cruz FC lose in UPSL national semi-final. Revs and Hartford Athletic Preseason round up

Santa Cruz FC bowed out of the UPSL Final Four with a 1-0 loss to South Carolina United. The game was played in Irvine, California with South Carolina advancing to the UPSL Final which will be played on Sunday. The New England Revolution played their first preseason match in a closed door affair vs Inter Miami. The game ended in a 2-2 stalemate. New England had goal contributions from Carles Gil (PK) and Jack Panayotou. New England takes the field on Sunday for Preseason game #2 vs Philadelphia Union. Hartford Athletic of the USL Championship kicked off their 2023 preseason last week at Trinity Health Stadium in Hartford. Manager Tab Ramos starts his 2nd season in charge, with eyes on improvement from the 2022 season. Danny Barrera returns for Hartford. Barrera was a top player in the USL in 2021. Hartford signed proven goal scorer Elvis Amoh to help bolster the attack. Amoh had previous stints in Colorado and Rio Grande with an impressive 26 goals over the last two season in the Championship.
