Coming off of an Eastern Conference Championship RIFC wasted no time strengthening their squad for 2025.
Rhode Island has signed Detroit City's Maxi Rodriguez ahead of the 2025 USL Championship season. Rodriguez has spent time in San Antonio, Detroit and Richmond Kickers of the USL League 1. Rodriguez had 10 goals and 5 assists last season and will be a welcome sight to a Rhode Island team which lacked creativity in the midfield at times in 2024.
Details of his contract with RIFC have yet to be revealed, but I would assume it's a 1 year deal with an option for a 2nd year.
