RIFC draws the match, but wins the day

A monumental moment took place in Pawtucket, Rhode Island today when Centreville Bank Sadium at Tidewater Landing hosted it's 1st USL Championship match.

RIFC hosted San Antonio in front of 10,700 fans. Although the game left a bit to be desired the event in itself was excellent.

Post a stellar rendition of the National Anthem a flyover took place when 2 helicopters thundered over the capacity crowd at CBS@TL.

The concession lines were long and walking areas were a bit crowded, but overall the Stadium has all you want and need to quench your thirst and hunger on and off the pitch.

The game ended in a nil to nil contest. RIFC minus JJ Williams did not have a point at the end of the spear to really threaten former Hartford Athletic keeper Richard Sanchez.

CBS@TL sits right on the Seekonk River and has a bit of a Craven Cottage feel in that aspect. You can actually sit near the river and be in the confines of the Stadium grounds.

I indulged in a soft pretzel which was one of the more affordable options in the concession area I purchased from. The pretzel came with a cheese cup and was rather dense, fulfilling my needs at the time.

As always The Defiance was in full voice with La Banda rocking through 90 minutes. Amber and Blue smoke was in full affect as well enhancing the total experience.

I will definitely be making CBS@TL a frequent stop in my Footy excursions. In regards to the Footy itself, RIFC needs more from highly touted free agent signing Maxi Rodriguez. They also need more from Noah Fuson, who has yet to find his 2024 form. Time will tell.
