Rhode Island FC introduced

Yesterday the USL Championship added a new team in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Rhode Island FC. The team has targeted the spring of 2024 as their inaugural season in the USL Championship which is the 2nd division in the US soccer pyramid. The club broke ground earlier this season on a waterfront stadium in Pawtucket. The new stadium will be the 2nd soccer specific stadium for a club in New England after Lusitano Stadium in Ludlow, Massachusetts, which is home to the Western Mass Pioneers who compete in USL 2.
