Revs vs NYCFC preview

toddtinkham

2 weeks ago I had the chance to catch NYCFC vs DC United live at Yankee Stadium. NYC will be a tough opponent for the Revs. Santi Rodriguez and Talles Magno were neutralized by Houston last week. I wouldn't expect the same thing Saturday night. Rodriguez and Magno can hurt you in a multitude of ways. With pace running in behind or running at you with the ball they both will pose problems for any defensive unit. James Sands who recently has returned from Rangers played in the back 4 vs Dynamo last week. Sands and Keaton Parks for me look to form a strong double pivot in the midfield, but I am not Nick Cushing and ultimately that is his choice. New England looks to build on 4 wins out of 5. Last week The Revs travelled to Audi Field in Washington DC and pulled out a dramatic 2-1 victory. Noel Buck's 88th minute goal sealed the dub for the boys in blue. Gustavo Bou was able to notch his second goal of the campaign also. The main question for me is, does Bruce Arena roll out the kids again. Jack Panayotou, Esmir Bajraktarevic and Noel Buck were up to the task vs DC. For me, it's a no brainier. Give them the keys again. Carles Gil came on as a 61st minute sub vs DC. I expect him to play more vs The Pigeons. Dylan Borrero and Christian Makoun make their way back from international duty and it will be interesting to see if they make the Matchday squad. It's sure to be a good one at Gillette Stadium Saturday night.
