Revs FO still behind in 2025

The key to MLS success is spending and or spending wisely. The New England Revolution are doing neither. The yearly MLS player and team salary guide dropped yesterday, and to no surprise the Revs are underwhelmingly dropping bread.

The exception to the rule is Carles Gil, who is a top 15 league earner, making roughly $4.7 million per. Carles salary is top 15 in the range of players like Hany Mukhtar, Christian Benteke (2024 Golden Boot winner) and Lucho Acosta. I am not going to make this about Carles.

With an open DP slot and Tom Chancalay on a cheap DP deal, the proof is once again in the pudding. This team isn't spending. With Bruce Arena at the helm, they spent more than they ever did, and got a Supporters Shield out of it, but nothing more.

I am going to attach the article from the New York times and the Athletic below with the info in regards to 2025 MLS salaries.

In conclusion, the Revs FO need to step it up if they want to be a competitive team again. TAM and GAM signings are just MLS spending mechanisms.....every team gets those. The real spending is how much you pay your DP's and the Revs are paying 1, handsomely and the other not so much. With an open DP slot they should go out and get a baller, but they either will not use it, attach the DP to Ganago next year, or leave us searching Google to know who is that guy when they do make the move........
