MLS Next Pro kicked of this past weekend. The New England Revolution 2 were victorious vs Atlanta United 2, 3-2. The Revs 2 were dominant for the majority of the game and built a 3-0 lead before ATL 2 mounted a comeback. Jake Rozhansky opened the scoring when he ripped a ball across the face of ATL 2's goal and was deflected in resulting in an own goal. In the second half Rozhansky wouldn't be denied his name on the score sheet. He scored Revs 2 second goal on a wonder strike from outside the 18 yard box doubling Revs 2 lead. Pierre Cayet capped the Revs 2 scoring with a header to push the lead to a commanding 3-0. Atlanta United 2 brought 2 goals back in the last 10 minutes of the game, one being a penalty from Former Revs player Nick Firmino. It was too little too late for ATL 2 as Revs 2 were able to hold on and win their opening game which took place at Kennesaw State University. Revs 2 have their home opener next Sunday at home vs NYCFC 2.
