Ole wins UPSL New England Spring crown

Ole FC pulled off the monumental upset yesterday when they beat unbeaten Brockton FC United at Bridgewater State University, to win the UPSL New England division.

Ole started strong on the front foot and had Brockton scrambling from the beginning. The Connecticut based club were sharper in the midfield and first to 50/50 balls which ultimately created both of their first half goals.

Target man "Mak" got Ole on the score sheet midway through the first half with a header goal that came from a cross into the box. The second goal was a thing of beauty and fortune. Ole midfielder "Matheus" scored the free kick of the season from the left side of the 18 yard box. The shot took a bit of a deflection which took the ball past the Brockton keeper and giving Ole the 2-0 lead going into the half.

Brockton carried the play in the 2nd half but were unable to break through on Ole until the 83rd minute. Former Revs 2 product Meny Silva dispatched a corner kick which was headed and deflected into the Ole net halving the lead to 2-1. Brockton through numbers forward trying to equalize but were unable to even the score.

At the final whistle Ole players stormed the field and chanted "Ole,Ole Ole Ole, Ole, Ole" to the delight of their supporters. Ole moves on to the UPSL regional finals which take place in the upcoming weeks.
