The weekend started in Hammonton, NJ at Tuckahoe Turf Farms. The NAL East region showcase brought some of the best youth sides in the region together in a showcase style format.

The Boston Bolts U19 South Shore NAL team dominated all weekend. A 5-1 win vs FA Euro NY on Friday, Saturday was a 4-0 win vs Barca Academy NY, and yesterday a 6-2 win vs Cedar Stars North capped the weekend.

Saturday afternoon we found ourselves at Subaru Park in Chester, PA for the DC United vs Philly Union match. Subaru Park is a gem of a stadium set beneath the Commodore Barry Bridge on the Delaware River.

Philly was dominant as Jakob Glesnes, Danley Jean Jacques, and Bruno Darmian tallied for the Union. Glesnes and Jean Jacques contributed golazos of a different sort. Glesnes caught a volley outside the box and side footed into the opposite side netting.
Jean Jacques megged a hapless DC defender then beat DC's keeper Barraza near post.
Another highlight of the match was seeing 15 year old Cavan Sullivan take the field. Sullivan came into the match in the 62nd minute and looked more than capable. His instincts, athleticism and IQ appear to have him on the fast track to Europe.

Sunday post the conclusion of the NAL East Showcase we drove to Mt. Vernon to catch RIFC vs Westchester SC in Jagermeister Cup action.

RIFC didn't disappoint and put a damper on Westchester's home opener with a 4-1 victory. JJ Williams found the back of the net twice, while Frank Nodarse, and Maxi Rodriguez netted for the amber and blue.
The Defiance traveled well for RIFC and took over Memorial Field with their comedic and boisterous chants. La Banda provided the percussion with a Thundering performance as well.

It was a tremendous weekend of Footy and cannot wait for another epic Footy vacation!
