It has been another busy week for New England MLS and USL Championship teams prepping for 2024. Hartford Athletic had an impressive showing vs MLS team Colorado Rapids, battling the Mile High squad to a 2-2 stalemate. Rece Buckmaster and Mamadou Dieng were the goalscorers for the Athletic who head to Chapel Hill, NC to continue preseason.

Hartford rival Rhode Island FC defeated New England Revolution 2, 1-0 as Jojea Kwizera found the back of the net. RIFC now play 2 vs a Bermuda Select team before coming back to Rhode Island and finishing off their preseason vs Revs 2 and Providence College.

At the MLS level New England concluded their preseason with a 5-2 loss to FC Cincinnati. This after a 0-0 draw to Philadelphia the day prior. New England's goals vs Cincy came from Jack Panayotou and an own goal. Esmir Bajraktarevic had an impressive performance vs Philly on Tuesday, with his confidence and flair on the ball and setting up chances for his teammates.

New England now heads to Panama for Concacaf Champions Cup. They play Independiente in Leg 1, February 21st. The 2nd Leg of that competition takes place Thursday, February 29th in Foxboro.

It has been a disappointing preseason for new manager Caleb Porter. The Revs have been outscored 11-3 this February with one of those goals being an own goal. Revs fans are hoping Porter ball kicks in soon or it may be an early CCC departure.
