On what was essentially a precursor to the Cape Cod Footy League which will take place at Falmouth High School this summer, a competitive and entertaining match took place Saturday afternoon on the Cape.

High school, former college, semi-pro, incoming college, and MLS Next players, gathered and went head to head for 90 minutes. 3-2 was the final as the white squad scraped the narrow victory over the maroon squad.
College commit Graham Tinkham led the white squad with a goal and an assist. Tinkham's goal came from the top of the box when his right footed shot wizzed past the maroon keeper making the game 1-0.
A back post tap in from Upper Cape Tech player Mycah Kingston doubled the lead for the white squad giving them a 2-0 lead in the 2nd half.
As the fitness levels dropped, the game opened up. Revs academy player Kaleb De Oliveira got the maroon squad on the board with a right footed finish. De Oliveira was dominant for the maroon squad with his driving runs and high work rate.
The white squad put the game to bed when Tinkham played Kingston through, and his shot took a massive deflection and found the back of the net to seal the victory.

Falmouth High player Ryan Lauriano scored a late consolation goal for the Maroon squad, which gave the game it's final score line 3-2.
Footy won yesterday, seeing players young and old gather to play is what it's all about. The quality was higher than expected, especially when Tinkham and De Oliveira got on the ball and went 1 v 1 in the center of the park, with each trying to best each other skill for skill and move for move. Next Saturday we do it again, can't wait!
