Hartford has done it. They have won the USL Cup AKA the Jagermeister Cup. Samuel Careaga's goal in the 51st minute was enough to take the Green to their 1st piece of silverware in club history. Hartford outshot Sacramento, but the Republic out possessed Hartford in a pretty even game, with the game ending 1-0 to Hartford.

Hartford's improbable run had them advancing as a wild card after group play. They defeated their arch rival RIFC in the last group stage match in pens. They then traveled to San Antonio in the quarterfinals and undid the "mini Spurs" 2-0. USL League 1 club Greenville Triumph came to Trinity Health in the semifinal and battled, but Hartford was too good in the night winning 3-1.
Hartford has 1 home match left this weekend in a rematch of the final last weekend vs Sacramento. The Athletic are in the driver's seat for the playoffs in the USL Championship Eastern Conference.
With 3 games left in the regular season Hartford is looking to climb into the top 4 of the East, which would give them an opportunity to host a playoff match.
