A last minute Carles Gil equalizer helped the Revs secure a point in ATL Wednesday night. New England jumped out to a 2-0 lead on a 1st minute goal from Carles Gil from a goalie blunder from Brad Guzan. Bobby Wood doubled New England's lead late in the first half from an Ema Boateng cross. Things were looking fantastic heading into the half. The second half New England was completely overrun. Atlanta tallied 3 goals in the second half from Greek international GG. Thiago Almada and a wonder strike from Miguel Berry pushed ATL to a 3-2 lead before Gil equalized late with a right foot shot which beat Guzan near post. Guzan the former USMNT player was horrific on the night. Conceding goals continues to be a problem for New England. Whether it's a back 3/5 or a 4 Revs are leaking goals. The tie extended Revs winless streak to 5 games. They travel to NYC to play NYCFC on Saturday. A bounce back is needed for Revs to stay in the home field places. Kickoff is at 3:30 at Yankee Stadium.
