Marcelo Diamantino Jr. is a household name on the Cape, especially in Hyannis, Massachusetts. The 18 year old Brazilian who had over 100 goal contributions in his Barnstable High School career realized for him to fulfill his dream he had to leave.

Leave he did...... Diamantino is now suiting up in Portugal for ADC Constantim who play in the 4th and 5th level of the Portuguese pyramid.

Diamantino, who had club experience with Seacoast, AC Independence and the Revs, chose to forgo his Senior season to turn his dream into a reality.

When I spoke with Marcelo at famed North Falmouth spot Silver Beach Pizza and Seafood in the summer he was extremely excited for his next chapter. He spoke on being grateful to all of the support Cape Cod folks gave him. He also spoke on the challenges moving abroad and competing with grown men day in and day out.

Last weekend Diamantino made his debut starting at LW for the U18's who drew 1-1. Tactics and chemistry with his teammates are 2 things that he said he needs to improve on going forward for ADC Constantim.

One thing we can bank on is that Marcelo will turn heads with his clinical finishing and sixth sense in and around the box.

Marcelo Diamantino Jr.......another baller who is living out his dream who started locally!
