Cypriano's rejuvenation continues at Boston City FC

toddtinkham

Felipe Cypriano's soccer journey began as a young kid watching his older brother run around the pitches in the Malden area. As a 4 year old he started running the pitches himself within the Malden Youth soccer setup. As his development continued he played with AC Arlington and this is when his love and development took off.

A trip to Italy where Felipe and AC Arlington took on the likes of Inter Milan and other top Italian academies helped foster the belief within himself. After some solid results in Italy, Cyp came back to the US with his confidence beaming. He then started his high school journey at Malden High School where he entered the starting 11 midway through his Freshmen year and never left the 11 the rest of his high school years.

At Malden High Felipe caught the eye of the Boston Bolts Development Academy team which at the time was the top level of youth soccer in the USA. The Bolts and Malden High helped Felipe be seen by Bryant University. Felipe played 2 seasons at Bryant and appeared in 32 games his Freshmen and Sophomore year.

The summer of 2019 Felipe joined AC Connecticut which is now a USL 2 outfit. In the fall of 2019 Felipe decided to transfer closer to home and play for UMass Lowell. At Lowell Cypriano fell prey to two nasty knee injuries and was never able to fully contribute for the River Hawks.

Cypriano then faced a fork in the road. Keep playing or take on a different path..... He chose to keep playing and that decision has paid off. Cypriano has been running the midfield for Boston City FC the last 2 years. City plays in the EPSL which is a branch of NISA. They also play in the USL 2. Although City has yet to put their stamp on the USL 2, they have been a mainstay near the top of the EPSL the last couple seasons.

Cypriano along with aforementioned big brother Frank Cypriano (current Boston City manager) have rejuvenated Boston City FC. The team which started brightly in 2015 has faded a bit into obscurity locally the last couple seasons. With Boston City Brazil going strong the team owners are working to get the local Boston community popping like they had in 2015.

Cypriano and Boston City are nearing the end of the EPSL season. With concluding matches on the horizon City may have the opportunity to qualify for the US Open Cup if they win the regional. The USL 2 season has just begun and this is where BCFC can continue to build the brand.

Cypriano's legend continues to grow as he recently showed up to a Boston City match straight from work, slid on the boots and scored an incredible Olympico goal vs Sete Setembro. The free kick master is gaining comparisons to James Ward Prowse with his timely goals and deliveries from set pieces.

The rejuvenation of Felipe Cypriano is evolving every week and will continue to be an exciting and inspiring quest...........
