A whirlwind weekend found me going from Glastonbury, Connecticut, to Foxboro on Saturday, and concluding in Malden on Sunday.
Saturday Boston Bolts NAL South Shore U19 pounded Oakwood 9-2. A half field golazo topped the goal list that included 2 penalty kicks and several nifty finishes in and around the box.
Upon returning home I found myself with enough enthusiasm to head up to Gillette for the highly anticipated match between the New England Revolution vs San Jose Earthquakes. The headline of the matchup was the return of Bruce Arena and several former Revs players.

Arena decided not to dress Earthquakes inventive midfield/winger Cristian Espinoza and injured forward Chicho Arango. Arena sent out a mainly reserve side that was able to stifle the Revs attack and keep them scoreless.
San Jose was able to create more but was not clinical enough when those chances presented themselves and the game ended in a 0-0 draw.
The match was not only a reunion with San Jose manager Bruce Arena, Revs all time great Shalrie Joseph is also on San Jose's staff and was on the sidelines for the Earthquakes.

The weekend concluded at Malden Catholic for USL 2 action. Home side Boston City played host to Vermont Green. City was able to hold the Green at bay for most of the game, but couldn't hold on to the 0-0, and Vermont took home 3 points with a 2-0 win.

A crowd of around 100 were in attendance at Malden Catholic to see the 2 foes face off. Vermont and Boston City have added several new faces to their squads in hopes of contending with Seacoast United and Western Mass Pioneers.

Another busy Footy weekend has come and gone. Next weekend is still up in the air, but we will end up somewhere, because these matches left me unsatisfied, Stay tuned.......
