The nickname La Pantera suits New England Revolution Forward Gustavo Bou. Bou at times can be silent in a game but when the moment occurs to pounce he does with pinpoint precision and rarely misses. Nashville SC turned out to be Bou's prey last night when in the 52nd minute La Pantera struck....He received a pass in between Nashville SC defender's Jack Maher and Shaq Moore found the space in between them, Bou then took the ball with his right foot too suck in Maher then shifted the ball quickly to his left foot and ripped a near post shot which grazed the left post and beat Nashville keeper Joe Willis. It is something New England fans have come to see and love from Bou. Since his arrival in New England in 2019 Bou has created the most memorable goals for the Revs in that time, with several goal of the year candidates seasonally. New England once again lined up in a 4-4-2, but the one change was Bou was moved up top with Bobby Wood. Manager Bruce Arena lined up without a specific #10 with more a flat midfield 4 which consisted of Dillon Borrero, Latif Blessing, Matt Polster and Noel Buck from left to right. This formation conceded some of the possession but was able to keep Nashville at bay for the most part. 2022 MLS MVP Hany Mukhtar had a couple chances to get Nashville on the scoreboard but was unable to beat New England keeper Djordje Petrovic. The win for New England comes off a 4-0 loss to LAFC and sees the Revs 2nd in the Eastern Conference after 4 games with 9 points. Next week New England travels to DC to play DC United who lost 3-2 to NYCFC in the Bronx last night. The evening did not end without a bit of controversy and confusion. After the last whistle a group of fans were harassing New England Revolution player Jozy Altidore who jogged over and started to step over the advertisement board behind the net. A security guard prevented Altidore from getting closer to the fans in question. This is definitely something to keep an eye on as the season progresses as Altidore has yet to make an impression for New England since his arrival in 2022 despite being one of the highest earners on the team.
