For the past 25+ years the Eastern Mass All Star Game has taken place the Friday after Thanksgiving. The 2024 edition took place today at Concord Carlisle High School.
This year saw 8 All Star teams face off in 4 different games. The early games began at 9am, with the last 2 games taking place at 11am. 2 pitches next to each other showcased Eastern Massachusetts best public school players, with numerous college coaches watching.
Among the 150 All Stars, there were several All State Players and a handful of All New England players. The game I was fortunate to attend ended in a thrilling 4-4 tie. The patterns of play and quality didn't look like guys that haven't played together as a unit before today.
Capelli Sport were the official outfitters for the event today. Each player received their own kit and warm up tee. The event is put on by EMSCA (Eastern Mass Soccer Coaches Association). Speaking with several attendees today they mentioned what an honor it was to play their last interscholastic match in this prestigious event.
