Sunday started at the grassroots level as the FSC, Cape Cod Footy League had another match. Today's match took place at Trotting Park in Falmouth. The pitches were in fine condition for 7 v 7, 9 v 9, and 11 v 11 play.......
Graham Tinkham was dominant for Falmouth Soccer Club with 3 outside the box goals, 2 being with the left foot. The game ended 6-4, with several standouts. Eben Delinks wowed with his power and pace for the men's team scoring 2 thunderbolts.
Theo Allenby was stellar for Falmouth Soccer Club as well. Allenby had the golazo of the day with a behind the back heel flick which bamboozled the men's FSC keeper.
This was the first time Allenby and Tinkham played together since their fall Falmouth High school season in which both were named Cape Cod and the Islands All Stars. The 2 didn't miss a beat as they both were unplayable on Sunday.

The main event Sunday was Puerto Rico vs Nicaragua at CBS@TL. CONCACAF, CONCACAF'D as the physicality and feistiness proved to be more than a "Friendly". Orlando City B man, Wilfredo Rivera opened the scoring for Puerto Rico. Rivera was able to cut inside and delicately place a left footed finish by the Nicaraguan keeper.

In the 35th minute, multiple yellow cards were brandished as a hard challenge on Rivera in front of the Nicaragua bench nearly caused a bench clearing brawl. During this sequence the Puerto Rico bench was booked, along with 2 players.

With the score 1-0 at half, things were looking a OK for Puerto Rico. Nicaragua had other thoughts in the 2nd half and were dominant, and found a beautiful header equalizer early in the 2nd half. Maxi Hernandez rose up and glanced his header over the outstretched arms of the Puerto Rico keeper evening out the score at 1-1.

This is how the match ended, though not before a double save, the 2nd being a goal line clearance, in which Puerto Rico thought they had the go ahead goal.
Overall, I had a blast, upon entrance I heard the boisterous sounds of the late great Christoper Rios AKA Big Pun blasting over the speakers. This led to The Beatnuts which transitioned into other neck bobbing sounds.....
Though the crowd was small, they were treated to the passion and pride of repping your country.....What a day!
