Former Revs and USMNT player Juan Agudelo took home US Open Cup Lower division player of the tournament. Agudelo helped Birmingham Legion reach the quarterfinals of the competition last year.
Agudelo scored 3 goals in the competition and contributed a game winning assist vs Charlotte FC of MLS.
We had an opportunity to speak with Juan last season in Hartford when the Legion took on Hartford Athletic. In that contest Agudelo's hold up play and combination play was vital in victory for Birmingham. Juan mentioned how he enjoyed his time in New England and hopes to visit New England more when his playing career is over.
Agudelo has signed with San Antonio FC ahead of the 2024 USL Championship season.
