2 in a row for RIFC

toddtinkham

It took some time but RIFC have their first home win of 2024, and it came in the form of a magnificent performance. The anchors dominated El Paso Locomotive 3-0. This is back to back, 3 goal margin victories for the Rhode Island club.

Goals from Albert Dikwa, Jojea Kwizera and Noah Fuson, brought the amber and blue to within a point of the playoff line in the Eastern Conference. More importantly, RIFC jumped local rival Hartford Athletic in the standings.

Dikwa's goal was created from Kwizera who delivered a perfect ball to Dikwa who was unmarked in front of El Paso's goal. Kwizera's individual effort doubled the lead when he split 2 El Paso defenders and his toe poke trivela shot took a slight deflection off of a Locomotive defender and trickled past the keeper.

A 2nd yellow, red card in the 87th minute for El Paso's Calvillo took the Texas squad down to 10 men and RIFC took advantage with a 90th minute plus 1 Noah Fuson goal. Fuson made an impressive run down the left side and beat the El Paso keeper far post clinching the match for RIFC.

RIFC look to stay hot when they host Indy Eleven Friday, July 5th.
