In stunning news NYCFC announced on Tuesday that they will be building a soccer specific stadium in Queens. This news comes after rumblings the last several weeks that "The Citizens" had something in the works in regards to a new stadium. The stadium will be ready for use in 2027. This news has sent the Revs community into a frenzy. New England has been teasing of a stadium for the Revs since 2006. The latest rumors being a piece of land on the Mystic in Everett. The power plant in Everett will be shutting down and after a series of environmental inspections the land will be up for sale. The coveted real estate will be heavily sought after when available as it borders Encore Casino and in the background sits the towering Boston skyline. That leaves the question, is Bob Kraft all in on a stadium for the Revs? Many if not most say no. Surely a stadium in the city limits would be more accessible for those within the 617 area. It would also be a draw for more international and domestic talent to come to the club. The Revs fan base has grown increasingly impatient and rightfully so. They have been told for years that something is in the works. You would think that their would be more transparency from the club in regards to yes we got something in the works, or no, we are at a stalemate. Either way, MLS teams are moving forward and Revs appear to be in neutral.
Does the NYCFC stadium deal put pressure on the Revs to get a stadium?
