First round proper of the US Open Cup begins this week. Locally Vermont Green host Lexington at 7pm at Virtue Field in Burlington, Vermont. On Thursday Western Mass Pioneers host Union Omaha at 7:30. That game is being played at legendary Lusitano Stadium in Ludlow, Massachusetts. Qualifying hero's Brockton FC United travel to Harrison, Tennessee to play Chattanooga Red Wolves at 7:30.
The US Open Cup has been a hot topic of late as most MLS teams have abandoned the competition. The fun kicks off on Tuesday with 64 total teams participating.
